June 2016: The 2016 BTCA National Specialty was amazing, to say the least! Our dogs did very well, and we had a great week spending time with people and dogs we only get to see once or twice a year, if that. The specialty committee did a wonderful job organizing everything so all attendees could have a week to remember.

Here's what the dogs did:

--Walker won Best of Breed and Best Working. We were told he's only the second dog in BTCA history to win BOB from the Working class, so we're very happy we entered him there and that he was able to highlight the importance of that class. A number of Walker's offspring did very well in their respective classes; it was great fun watching them!

--Walker's grandson, Quinn, won Winners Dog/Best of Winners/Best Bred By Exhibitor. Quinn showed really well and looked great.

--Sadie was second in a very competitive 7-9 Veteran Bitch Sweepstakes class. She was third in an equally competitive 7-9 Veteran Bitch Non-Regular class. This was a very deep class with beautiful veterans who are aging incredibly well.

-- Mona won the 12 inch Open Standard class in agility with zero faults. Unfortunately, she took a bad spill in Open Jumpers and couldn't finish running the course. She also qualified in Rally Excellent.

-- Riley ventured back into the show ring after many years for the 10-13 Veteran Bitch Sweepstakes class. It took her a minute to remember why she was there, and as soon as she did, her eyes sparkled and she had a blast! She's shaved and missing several teeth, but she thought she looked spectacular!

-- Eliza was braced with her full sister, Tori, in Master Earthdog, and both girls worked great and qualified. It was hard for the judge and handlers to tell them apart in the field!
